37 weeks... and 2 cm!

Today I had my 37-week appointment (technically I'm 36 weeks + 5 days) and I am now dilated 2 centimeters! This week the baby has been taking a little longer with the kick counts. Normally she is a busy body, and it only takes 10-15 minutes for her to move 10 times, but for the last few nights it's taken about 30-40 minutes. (Maybe she's just running out of room?!?)

I mentioned this to my doctor, and she decided to have me do a non-stress test to make sure everything is okay. Normally they can do this in her office, but apparently not on Wednesdays, so I had to check into Labor & Delivery to do this. It was a little nerve-wracking because I had to put on the hospital gown, sign paperwork and get one of those fancy little hospital bracelets! Here I am by myself thinking "Umm, I'm not ready to have this baby yet!"

The nurse monitored me and the baby (contractions and baby's heart rate) for about 30-45 minutes and everything looked fine. She instructed me to just take it easy. But my "quick doctor's appointment" turned into 2 hours when all was said and done. I think I better get my hospital bag packed just in case!

36 weeks

As of Friday, I am 36 weeks pregnant and still dilated 1 centimeter. Also, I am on maternity leave!! :) Tomorrow will be my first day NOT waking up at 5:15 am and driving 30 miles to work! I am looking forward to a little time off before the craziness begins.

London's Baby Shower

My sister and my aunt threw me a baby shower last weekend. The theme was "Vintage Tea Party" and it was a wonderful shower! We had all different desserts with coffee, tea and raspberry lemonade. Everything was delicious and beautifully decorated, from the assorted vintage teacups to the fresh flowers throughout the house. We played a few games - one of which was called "Super Mom" where you had to hang baby clothes on a clothesline as quickly as you can in 1 minute, while holding a baby doll and telephone. Baby London got TONS of gifts - mostly pink clothes! - and it was such a great day celebrating our upcoming baby girl with family & friends.

35 weeks... and 1 cm!

This morning I had a doctor's appointment, and I am dilated 1 centimeter! Baby is still head down too. :) I will be 35 weeks tomorrow, so I still have about a month to go, but my doctor said she doesn't think this baby will be coming late! I'm hoping for a week early. Only time will tell...

Our Little Bruiser

Yesterday we all had a day off together, so we headed to South Coast Plaza for breakfast at Champagne (a little French place). After breakfast, Hudson wanted to throw pennies into the water fountain, so he took off running and ran RIGHT into a railing, which hit him right below the eye and knocked him over. Poor guy. He was totally crying... for about 30 seconds. Then he was ready to throw the pennies. It isn't the first time something like this has happened, and it surely won't be the last! I just hope our little girl is a little more graceful...

34 weeks

I am feeling pretty large these days! Scary to think I have 6 more weeks to go... and grow. Hopefully the baby will come a little early. Tomorrow I have my baby shower, which I am so excited for!

Finishing Touches...

This weekend we found a mirror for the nursery, so it is finally complete! I know I will probably get some comments about hanging something over the crib, but Brandon made sure to anchor it really well, so it's not going anywhere! We hung the Barbie prints before we had the crib, and we ended up putting the furniture in differently than we planned... hence, the need for something else on the wall! But now it is finished (really).

London's Nursery

Today we picked up the crib and were finally able to set up the bedding. The only thing left is to hang something over the crib... and of course welcome our baby girl! We are really happy with how it all came out and hope London loves it as much as we do!
